Thérèse resides in the Crescent Beach area of South
Surrey, B.C. drawing her daily inspiration from her seaside views.
Thérèse’s love of the Impressionists’
style is reflected in her happy and contemplative paintings. Her
strong colour sense enhances the joyful play of light and shadows
in her subjects.
Thérèse travels throughout North America, Europe and
Australia in search of subject matter, sketching and photographing on site
for her studio work. Her preferred medium is acrylic on canvas.
Thérèse has a strong following of patrons and collectors
in Canada, Australia, U.S.A. and Europe.
Early Years
Born in Louvain, Belgium, raised in the Belgian Congo, Thérèse
moved to Montreal, Canada in 1963.
Academic Studies
Thérèse studied painting under Dr. Arthur Lismer at
the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, and sketching under Prof. Tondino
at McGill University, School of Architecture. Thérèse
graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in History of
Fine Arts, from McGill University, Montreal.
Career
Thérèse attained a diploma in fashion design from
the Istituto Superiore Di Alta Moda, Cataldo, Rome, Italy and worked
for 25 years as a fashion designer in Europe and Canada. Thérèse
exhibits her work at the annual Van Dusen Garden and Flower Show,
Vancouver, BC. Canada and in her biannual private exhibitions in
